Michiie Sakamoto

Dr. Michiie Sakamoto is a Professor at the Department of Pathology since 2002 and a ViceDean of Keio University School of Medicine. He majored in Pathology at Keio University Graduate School of Medicine and received a PhD degree in 1991. He was appointed as a research member in Pathology Division, National Cancer Center Research Institute in Tokyo in 1989, and nominated as the Chief in the Division in 1999.
Professor Sakamoto have conducted comprehensive analyses of gene expression correlating with multistep development and histological subtypes of several types of cancers, and identified molecules applicable to individualized diagnosis and therapy.
Professor Sakamoto has published over 300 scientific papers in high quality international English Journals. He is also serving as an Editor-in-Chief of Pathology International, an Associate Editor of Cancer Science and Hepatology Research.
