Dr. Hanlin L. Wang is a Professor and the Director of Gastrointestinal Pathology at the David Geffen School of Medicine and Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Wuhan University School of Medicine in China and his PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. He completed his pathology residency and gastrointestinal/liver pathology fellowship at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Wang has authored more than 140 peer-reviewed journal articles, 38 book chapters, 18 invited reviews, and 1 pathology textbook on organ transplantation (co-editor). He serves on editorial boards for several pathology/medical journals, is an ad hoc reviewer for more than 40 medical/scientific journals, and was an Advisory Panel Member of the CAP-ASCP-ASCO HER2 Testing in Gastric Cancers Guideline Development Project in 2015-2016. He has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international meetings. He currently chairs the Membership Committee of the Hans Popper Hepatopathology Society and is the Vice Chair of Pathology Committee of International Liver Transplantation Society. He has received numerous awards including the prestigious CAPA-ACD Distinguished Pathologist Award in 2016. His clinical and research interests include medical and neoplastic gastrointestinal and liver diseases.
